Campaign roadshow meetings have reached over 1,200 young people around Ireland and featured Community Gardaí, high profile role models and local radio DJs.
Over 1,200 explanatory leaflet and goody bags were distributed to young people attending roadshow meetings.
Community Gardaí all over Ireland have visited schools and community centres, meeting almost 5,000 young people this year to talk about the dangers of knife crime.
Over 150 Gardaí received comprehensive support material to enable them to conduct meetings about knife crime with young people in their local areas.
After the meetings with Community Gardaí, teachers and youth workers receive follow-up exercise sheets, developed in consultation with the Department of Education, that help to revisit the campaign message following the meetings.
The Copping On Project is training over 3,000 people to work with at-risk young people on the dangers of knife crime.
Up to 5,000 young people in Ireland and in Northern Ireland (through VOYPIC) could be made aware of knife crime issues through the Copping On programme.
Over 35,000 leaflets containing information on knife crime and directed at parents and guardians were distributed through Garda stations across Ireland.
The campaign has been supported by the GAA, FAI, IRFU and Munster Rugby.
